Chapter 4 · 4.11
Creating a letter or quote
In this article, you'll see how to create a smart letter or quote using everything from this chapter. As an example, we'll use the WebOké quote.

Step by step
- Letterhead: put your logo in the header and your address, phone number and website in the footer. That way, they appear on every page. See Header, footer and page numbers.
- Title and details: type the title, the customer's name, the date and a number at the top. Give the title the Title style or format it with a larger font in your brand colour. See Formatting text: font, size, colour and alignment.
- The prices: put the items in a table with columns for description, quantity and price. Choose a table template with a coloured header row. See Inserting and formatting tables.
- Proofing: let the spelling check keep an eye out (red wavy lines) and check the document language. See Language, spell checking and dictionary.
- Sending: download the quote as a PDF, so it looks exactly the same for the customer. See Download as docx, xlsx, pptx, odt or pdf and Printing and saving as PDF.
Creating a standard template
Do you create quotes or letters often? Then create a document with your letterhead once, and save it in a Templates folder in your Nextcloud. For a new letter, open the template and choose File and then Save Copy As. Choose DOCX, the folder and a new name. Then open the copy and fill it in. This keeps the template itself empty. You can also copy the template in Files: click the three dots next to the name and choose Move or copy.
Tip: share the templates folder with your colleagues (see Een document delen met een collega). That way, everyone uses the same letterhead.
