What is Euro-Office?

Euro-Office is an online office suite: a word processor, a spreadsheet program, a presentation program and a pdf editor in one. You use it in your browser, straight from your WebOké Nextcloud. You don't need to install anything, and your files simply stay in your own Nextcloud.

A European office suite

Euro-Office was announced in Berlin in March 2026 by a group of European technology companies, including Nextcloud, IONOS and Proton. The goal: a fully fledged alternative to Microsoft Office, developed and managed in Europe. This way, businesses, governments and individuals keep control over their own documents. This is known as digital sovereignty.

Euro-Office is open source. Anyone can view the source code on GitHub. The suite is based on ONLYOFFICE, a well-known online office that has handled Word, Excel and PowerPoint files reliably for years. You can read more about its background on Wikipedia.
