Opening webmail

With webmail, you can read and send your email in your browser, without installing anything. Handy when you're out and about, on a computer that isn't yours, or to test whether your email address and password work. WebOké's webmail runs on Roundcube, in our own house style.

How to open webmail

Go to webmail.weboke.nl. You can also click Webmail at the top right of our website, in the narrow bar right at the top (1).

(1) the Webmail link at the top of our website

There are two other ways to reach the same webmail:

  • Type /webmail after your own domain name, for example www.yourdomain.com/webmail. You'll then be redirected to webmail. This works if your domain points to your hosting package at WebOké.
  • DirectAdmin itself doesn't have a separate button for webmail. So use one of the addresses above.

Logging in

  1. At User Name (1), enter your full email address, so info@yourdomain.com and not just info.
  2. At Password (2), enter the password for this email address. This is the password you chose when creating the address, not the password for My WebOké or DirectAdmin.
  3. Leave the Server field (3) empty. This is also stated there: Leave this field empty if your domain is hosted with us.
  4. Click Sign In.

You're now in your mailbox. On the left are your folders, such as Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Trash and the spam folder. Everything you do here also appears in your email program if it works with IMAP (see IMAP or POP3: what's the difference?).

When should you fill in something at Server?

Almost never. Webmail automatically finds the server for your email address. Two exceptions:

  • Your domain doesn't (or no longer) points to WebOké, for example during a move, or because your domain has moved to another provider while your email is still with us. In that case, enter the server name of your package at Server, such as linux2023.webawere.nl. You can find this in Finding your server name and DA user name.
  • The default account of your package. With this, you log in using only the DA user name and the server name at Server (see The default email account of your package).

If you've entered something at Server when that's not needed, sending may fail with the message SMTP-fout (535): Authenticatie mislukt. If so, log out and log in again with an empty Server field.

Handy things in webmail

  • Signature: set your signature in the settings, under Identities.
  • Automatic reply or forwarding: create a filter in the settings. This lets you set up an out of office message or forward email with a copy to your own mailbox, even without DirectAdmin.
  • Searching and sorting by size: handy if your mailbox is filling up (see Storage per mailbox and what happens when it's full).
