Chapter 9 · 9.4
Transferring data between Nextcloud accounts
Would you like to copy your contacts, calendars and files from one Nextcloud account to another? For example, from Nextcloud Free to your new paid package, or from an old account to a new one? Use Nextcloud Export. Both Nextcloud accounts must be on our servers.
Where do you find Nextcloud Export?
Type Nextcloud Export in the search bar at the top of My WebOké and click on the result. Or go directly to my.weboke.nl/nextcloudexport. You need to be logged in. The feature is still in beta.

How to copy your data
- Under Copy from (source) (1), enter the Nextcloud domain, Username and password of the account where the data currently is.
- Under Copy to (destination) (2), enter the same details for the account you want to copy the data to.
- Under What would you like to copy? (3), choose what needs to be copied: contacts, calendars and files. By default, all three are switched on.
- Click on Start copying (4).
Copying can take anywhere from minutes to hours, depending on how much data you have. During this time, the page may appear to be frozen; this is normal. Don't close the page. When it's done, you'll see Copying successful! along with how many contacts, calendar items and megabytes of files were copied, and how many were skipped.
Good to know
- Nothing is overwritten or deleted. Anything already in the destination is skipped. This means you won't end up with duplicate items, even if you run the process again.
- All address books and calendars from the source are merged into the first address book and first calendar of the destination.
- The source and destination cannot be the same.
- Is two-step verification enabled on an account? Then use an app password instead of your regular password. You can create one in Nextcloud under Settings, Security, in the Devices and sessions section. You can read how this works in the Nextcloud manual.
Please note: if you plan to close the old account afterwards, first check the new account to make sure everything is there. Deletion cannot be undone.
